Happy April everybody!

We’ve had an amazing spring so far! Tour was all we could have hoped for – a constant stream of old friends and new ones, fantastic venues, good turnouts, tasty beer, and lots and lots of tunes! We hope to hit some of the same spots up when we head out to Olalla Bluegrass and Beyond Fest this August so keep an eye out!

We’ve been pretty busy since getting home and will be trying to maintain a steady pace with gigs while we plan ahead for some more adventures this summer/fall, and talk of hitting the studio again this fall is starting to build! Keep watching the Facebook for more news!

Alright! It must be spring, because we’re loading up the van and hittin’ the road!

Keep an eye on our dates here and on our facebook page – we’ll be doing about 10 shows in two weeks all around the Northwest, and then coming home to play a FREE show with the Lil’ Smokies at the newly revamped Top Hat! Looks and sounds great in there and we can’t wait to try out that stage! But we’re looking forward to all the shows in between – gonna see some old friends at a few familiar spots (what’s up Seattle, Portland and Hood River!) but we’ll be making our debut performance in a lot of towns too so spread the word!

This is just the beginning of a killer year for us: we’ll be sharing the stage with Toubab Krewe and Pert Near Sandstone in April and are working on a handful of killer festival appearances this summer. And when we’re not on stage we’re gonna stay hard at work in other ways…stay tuned!

Good news! We’ve advanced into the top three finalists of the Zoo Music Awards! For those that don’t know, over 180 bands and artists submitted to this inaugural event, and the public voted on the top five in each of the nine categories. The top five competed in a showcase this Saturday to the reception of audience votes and a panel of judges, and we moved on to the top three along with Bozeman bluegrass bands Flatt Cheddar and Kitchen Dwellers!

Now, we get to rest on our laurels because it’s all up to the judges at this point. The awards ceremony is on March 2 at the Wilma Theater, and will be a red-carpet, grammys-style ceremony with performances by local bands and a headline show by Seattle band The Moondoggies. They’ll be announcing the winners of each category, but we’re happy to even make the running – thanks for the incredible outpouring of support from everybody in the voting process! We couldn’t have made it this far without ya!

Anyways, our next gig is this Friday up at the Craggy Range in Whitefish, so we hope to see some Northerner friends up there! Watch the Facebook for upcoming announcements and we hope to catch ya either in Whitefish or at the Zoo Music Awards March 2!

Alright! Finally getting around to getting this up! Our good friends Chris Balboni (who directed our last couple of music videos) and Matt Riley (who handles a bulk of our photography) teamed up at the closing night of the Top Hat and did a little shooting, and this is what came outta it!

Sleep When I’m Dead (Official Video)

We’re so glad to have such talented friends and can’t thank all the folks that came out to party that night enough. One of the best shows we’ve ever had!

Hey all! It’s been a while since there’s  been an update on here – we took some time off for the holidays and since then have been woodshedding hard to bring some new songs to life. Feeling good! Just had a great time opening up for Head for the Hills last night and are riding quite a high.

Now that the new year is upon us we’ve got our sights set on some good gigs. First up: Treefort Music Festival in March! This Boise festival is only on its second year but it’s got one helluva lineup already, and we’re stoked to be a part of it. Here’s the website: http://treefortmusicfest.com/

We’ll be using this as an excuse to hit the road again, and will be doing a couple weeks around the Northwest. The dates are up on the website here, a nice blend of some of our favorite stops and some new places as well. Hope to see you all out at the shows!

Also, we’re participating in the first annual “Zoo Music Awards,” a new Montana-based music competition that will wind up with a red-carpet style awards ceremony at the Wilma Theater. The first step is voting for all the bands – the top 5 bands in each of the 9 categories will go on to play a showcase in mid-February. That’s where you come in! head to http://missoulanews.bigskypress.com/missoula/ZooMusicVoting/Page, click on any of the categories and scroll down to the bottom to start the voting process. You can either sign in through Facebook or create a profile on the Independent’s website to vote, and we’re competing in both the Bluegrass/Country and Psychedelic/Jam Band categories. There’s some awesome bands taking part in this so we really need your votes to even get into the showcase, and that’s just the beginning!

Last but not least, we hope to be dropping a new live video sometime this week! Those that are signed up to our mailing list (which you can do by simply shooting us an email at dodgymtnmen@gmail.com asking to be on it!) will get the first peak at it and then we’ll get it up on our social media sites. Hope you enjoy it!
